Saltillo, Mexico is situated at an elevation of 5,210 feet, in the Anahuac region ("country by the waters" in the Aztec language). The climate is dry and hot, with mild winters, with lots of sunshine, rainfall at approximately 16 inches per year, with an annual average temperature of approximately 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Only 186 miles from Laredo, Texas in the U.S. Saltillo has superb communication and transportation infrastructures in place, with access to other cities in Mexico via an international airport, by rail, or on the main highways.
